"This painting is bursting with energy. The frantic marks which surround the figure were applied relentlessly in a chaotic manner which was channelled through music on loud in my studio. Within these moments I am fully immersed in the physical and emotional act of painting and I am never quite sure whether I am creating something beautiful or a chaotic disaster. Either way it explores my truest form of expression, with my heart across the surface.  The act of being present within that moment is a pure form of art and is also something which I am trying to do within my personal life, to be present and live in the now, and embrace the chaos which life throws at us."
